After second visit, the patient felt more comfortable. The original formula was gradually increased by adding 5g aconite every five days until reaching 50g. After one month, added Shenqi San (equal parts of red ginseng and notoginseng, finely powdered), taken twice daily, 5g each time. Follow-up every five days. After four months of treatment, fully recovered. No recurrence after one year of follow-up.3. Reflection: In this formula, dangshen, astragalus, atractylodes, tangerine peel, pinellia, and sandalwood are the main ingredients of Liu Junzi Tang for warming and strengthening the spleen; salvia, garlic, trichosanthes seed, and pinellia are the main drugs for treating chest obstruction; ligusticum, angelica, red peony, peach kernel, and safflower are the main drugs for activating blood and breaking stasis; aconite, cinnamon twig, poria, alisma, hematite, achyranthes, and eight-component kidney qi decoction are the main drugs for calming liver and stabilizing the spirit. The entire formula combines Liu Junzi Tang, Shenqi Wan, Zhigan Feng, Tao Hong Si Wu Tang, Trichosanthes, garlic, and other formulas, modified and combined. The formula heavily uses aconite to stimulate heart yang; heavily uses atractylodes to strengthen spleen yang and remove dampness; kudzu root lifts stomach qi and prevents the drying effect of other herbs; areca nut enhances the effect of breaking stasis and diuresis; dried ginger warms the middle and prevents toxicity from aconite; schisandra's sour taste gathers primordial qi and restrains the drying effect of atractylodes. All herbs work together, precisely targeting the pathology.
