[Drug Composition] Aconite root 9g, Herbaceous aconite 3g, Ginger 9g, Chinese cinnamon twig 3g, Angelica root 3g, White wine 100ml
[Function and Indication] Sedative analgesic, local anesthesia. Suitable for dental caries.
[Dosage and Administration] Use the liquid to rinse around the affected tooth; usually 2–3 applications relieve pain.
[Preparation Method] Grind all herbs into coarse powder, mix with wine in a wine jar, soak briefly, then warm gently.

Comment: Both Aconite and herbaceous aconite contain aconitine, which has anesthetic and analgesic effects on nerve endings; Chinese cinnamon twig contains various essential oils with sedative and anesthetic properties, but should be used cautiously to avoid poisoning. Treatment of over 20 cases showed satisfactory pain relief.
Pinellia Wine
[Drug Composition] Twenty Pinellia tubers
[Function and Indication] Treats severe tongue swelling and fullness of mouth.
[Dosage and Administration] Take hot wine to gargle, spit out when cold, repeat with fresh hot wine until cured; internal use is also effective.
[Preparation Method] Boil the herbs in water, then soak briefly in water, immediately immerse in one sheng of good wine, seal container. Let sit for long time.

[Drug Composition] Pine needle 1 piece, Salt 2 heaping spoonfuls

[Drug Composition] Pepper 1 heaping spoonful, Houttuynia (roasted) 10 leaves, Atractylodes 2 taels, Prunus mume root (also known as Prunus fruit root), Angelica 2 taels, Ligusticum 2 taels, Chinese cinnamon twig 1 tael, Windproof 1 tael
[Function and Indication] Treats headache and facial wind, oral and dental pain.
[Dosage and Administration] Hold in mouth until symptoms subside. Do not swallow juice.
[Preparation Method] Chop the eight ingredients finely, boil with 3 sheng of wine until 3–5 boils, then filter out residue.

Guaranteed Effective Toothache Wine
[Drug Composition] Windproof 2 taels, Aconite 2 taels, Sichuan pepper 2 taels, Mustard herb (roasted) 1 tael

[Drug Composition] Ligusticum 4 taels, Wine 2 sheng
[Function and Indication] Treats loose tooth roots, swelling and pain, and locked jaw due to stroke.
[Dosage and Administration] Warmly hold in mouth, or drink 3 heaping spoonfuls warmed, repeat if not cured; for locked jaw, administer by force, 3 times daily.
[Preparation Method] Soak the herbs in clean vessel, heat gently over fire until slightly boiling, simmer until volume halved, filter out residue.

[Note] The "Complete Record of Holy Healing" adds 5 heaping spoonfuls of soybeans to treat locked jaw due to stroke.

[Drug Composition] Herba Dipsaci 3 taels, add water 5 sheng, boil down to 4 sheng, filter out residue; Sichuan pepper 1 tael, Evodia 1 tael, Ligusticum 1 tael, Cuttlefish bone 1 tael, Peach gum 1 tael, Cinnamon heart ½ tael, Wine 1 tablespoon
[Function and Indication] Gum swelling and pain, difficulty opening mouth, facial puffiness.

[Drug Composition] Aconite, Ligusticum, and Prunus mume root bark each 1 tael

[Preparation Method] Chop the three ingredients, wrap in cloth, soak in 1.5 sheng of good wine overnight, steam slowly over low fire, extract 1 sheng, filter out residue.
