Comment: Both gardenia and artemisia have clearing heat and promoting bile functions, especially artemisia as a key herb for reducing jaundice. "Bencao Gangmu" mentions using four artemisia stalks, seven gardenias, one large field snail (with shell), crush together, mix with one large cup of boiling flower tea and one large cup of white wine, drink the juice to treat male alcoholic jaundice. These formulas emphasize prolonged decoction to fully utilize active components while allowing ethanol to evaporate significantly, ensuring safety. Further research needed to enhance efficacy.
艾豆二黄酒—Original name Deep Shi Jiu Dan Ai Tang Fang
[Drug composition] Fresh mugwort leaf one bunch, Ephedra (remove joints) two taels, Rhubarb six fen, Soybean one sheng
