Diagnosis and Treatment of Atrophic Glossitis in TCM
Ang atrophic glossitis ay tumutukoy sa atrophy of the lingual mucosa caused by various diseases, kasama sa TCM ang "mirror-like tongue" o "cracked tongue", na may magandang resulta sa TCM diagnosis and treatment.
Pagpapalakas ng Yin at Pagbaba ng Fire – Ginagamit para sa liver and kidney yin deficiency. Karaniwan ay may dry mouth, tongue pain, loss of appetite, red and shiny tongue, or peeled coating. Kasama ang hot flushes, night sweats, tinnitus, back and knee soreness, or five palms heat, restless sleep, constipation. Sa babae, may abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding, bright red color, abdominal pain, or dark color with clots, irregular periods. Pulse: deep and fine or slippery and rapid. Karaniwang gamit ang Zhi Bai Di Huang Tang, Er Zhi Wan with modifications: Zhi Mu, Huang Bai, Dan Pi, Di Gu Pi, Qing Hao, Bie Jia, Shan Yu Rou, Yun Ling, Shan Yao, Nv Zhen Zi, Zao Lian Cao, Shi Hu, Xuan Shen, Tian Dong, Dang Gui, Hua Fen.
Pagpapalakas ng Lung and Stomach – Ginagamit para sa lung and stomach heat, damaging fluids, stomach yin deficiency, insufficient yin fluid, unable to ascend, hence dry mouth and tongue pain, red and shiny tongue, or cracked tongue. Kasama ang thirst, drinking frequently, sweating, heat intolerance, dry cough with little phlegm, poor appetite, constipation, or reversed qi with vomiting, restlessness, poor sleep, wiry and fine, scattered pulse. Gamit ang Bai Hu Tang, Sha Shen Mai Dong Tang with modifications: Sheng Shi Gao, Zhi Mu, Sha Shen, Yu Zhu, Sang Ye, Mai Dong, Hua Fen, Gan Cao, Bai Shao, Sheng Di, Dang Gui, Shi Hu, Shan Yao.
Pagpapalakas ng Spleen and Blood – Ginagamit para sa spleen weakness, inability to function properly, failure to digest food, inadequate production of qi and blood, resulting in yin blood deficiency unable to nourish the tongue, hence longitudinal cracks on the tongue surface, or pale tongue with smooth surface and no coating. Kasama ang poor appetite, abdominal distension, fatigue, dry and painful tongue, constipation or loose stool, in women: light menstrual flow, pale color, lower back and abdominal discomfort, weak and slow or deep and feeble pulse. Gamit ang Gui Pi Tang, Sha Shen Mai Dong Tang with modifications: Bai Zhu, Tai Zi Shen, Huang Qi, Dang Gui, Yuan Zhi, Chao Zao Ren, Long Yan Rou, Sha Shen, Mai Dong, Yu Zhu, Hua Fen, Zhi Mu, Shu Di, Shan Yao, Yun Ling, Gan Cao.
Clearing Heart and Liver Fire – Dahil sa overwork or emotional injury, heart and liver fire, intense heat, damaging yin fluids, yin deficiency, insufficient fluids, unable to ascend, hence dry mouth and throat, numbness and pain in the tongue, red and shiny tongue, or cracks. Kasama ang irritability, easy anger, insomnia, dreams, chest tightness, side distension or pain, poor appetite, hot and painful urination, constipation, tinnitus, deafness, wiry, fine, and rapid pulse. Gamit ang Dao Chi San, Yu Nu Jian with modifications: Sheng Di, Mu Tong, Gan Cao, Lian Qiao, Huang Qin, Long Dan Cao, Zhi Zi, Sha Shen, Sheng Shi Gao, Zhi Mu, Dang Gui, Tian Dong, Mai Dong, Hua Fen, Yu Zhu, Zhu Ye, Sang Ye.
Ang atrophic glossitis ay may mahabang history, maraming pagbabago, at bawat tao ay iba-iba, ngunit ang lahat ay dulot ng diet, emotions, or overwork, na nagdudulot ng organ dysfunction, either due to heat damaging fluids or deficiency causing low fluids, unable to ascend, hence dry mouth and throat, red tongue with peeling, or shiny without coating, or extensive cracks. Kaya ang apat na paraan ay complementary at dapat gamitin ayon sa diagnosis.
