[Paghulag]
Karaniwang nararanasan sa upper respiratory infection, acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, at iba pa.
[Sanhi at Patogenesis]
(1) External Pathogens: Ang lungs ay responsable sa breathing, nasa itaas ng body, connected to the throat, opens to nose, and connects to skin and hair. Kapag naging vulnerable sa external pathogens, the lung defense is compromised, lung qi becomes obstructed and unable to clear, thus causing cough.
Karaniwan ay lung dryness-yin deficiency, lung losing its ability to clear; spleen yang deficiency, producing phlegm, which ascends to lungs and affects qi movement; liver qi stagnation, transforming into fire, damaging the lungs; lung-kidney yin deficiency, lung losing its ability to disperse and descend, leading to cough.
[Diagnosis at Treatment]
(1) External Cough
1. Wind-Cold
Key symptoms: cough with itchy throat, clear and thin phlegm, chills, fever, no sweating, headache, nasal congestion, runny nose, white thin tongue coating, floating pulse.
2. Wind-Heat
Key symptoms: yellow sticky phlegm, difficult to cough, dry mouth, sore throat, fever, or headache, aversion to wind, sweating, yellow thin tongue coating, floating rapid pulse.
Paraan: Gamitin ang points sa Hand Taiyin at Yangming meridian. For wind-cold, use acupuncture and moxibustion; for wind-heat, only acupuncture, no moxibustion, to disperse lung and release exterior.
Preskripsyon: Lieque, Hegu, Feishu.
Supplementary points: For sore throat, add Shaoshang; for fever and chills, add Dazhui, Wai Guan.
Paliwanag: The lung governs the skin and hair, and is paired with the large intestine. Using Lieque (the Luo point of lung) and Hegu (the Yuan point of large intestine) disperses wind and removes pathogens, and promotes lung dispersion. Feishu is the back-shu point of lung, helping to regulate lung qi and enhance the effect of dispersing and releasing exterior. For sore throat, bleeding at Shaoshang clears lung heat. For fever and chills, Dazhui and Wai Guan help reduce fever and release exterior.
(2) Internal Cough
1. Phlegm-Damp Obstruction in Lungs
Key symptoms: excessive phlegm, white and sticky, chest tightness, poor appetite, greasy tongue coating, slippery pulse.
Paraan: Gamitin ang back-shu points at foot yangming points. Use balanced tonification and sedation, and can add moxibustion to strengthen spleen and resolve phlegm.
Preskripsyon: Feishu, Pishu, Zhongwan, Zusanli, Chize, Fenglong.
Paliwanag: Feishu and Pishu tonify lung and spleen qi, enhancing lung dispersion and spleen transformation. Zhongwan and Zusanli strengthen the spleen and stomach to resolve phlegm. Chize drains lung to stop cough, Fenglong resolves phlegm and descends qi. Together, these points strengthen the spleen, resolve phlegm, and stop cough.
2. Lung Dryness-Yin Deficiency
Key symptoms: dry cough without phlegm, or little phlegm that is hard to expel, dry nose and throat, or sore throat, or blood streaks in phlegm, even hemoptysis, tidal fever, flushed cheeks, red tongue with thin coating, fine rapid pulse.
Paraan: Gamitin ang back-shu and mu points of lung. Use balanced tonification and sedation to nourish yin, moisten dryness, and clear lung qi.
Preskripsyon: Feishu, Zhongfu, Lieque, Zhaohai.
Supplementary points: For hemoptysis, add Kongzui, Geshu.
Paliwanag: Feishu and Zhongfu, as shu and mu points, nourish the lung and regulate qi. Lieque, a Luo point of lung, connects to Ren meridian, clearing and moistening to stop cough. Combined with Zhaohai, nourishes yin and generates fluids to clear the throat. Kongzui is the Xi point of lung, treats acute conditions. Geshu is the blood meeting point, specialized for stopping bleeding. Together, they stop hemoptysis. All points work together to nourish yin, moisten dryness, clear lung qi, stop cough, and stop bleeding.
