Shao Yao Jiu
[Drug Composition] Shao Yao, Huang Qi, Sheng Di Huang, each three liang; Ai Ye one liang
[Function and Indication] Treat women’s blood injury with red and white leukorrhea.
[Dosage and Usage] Warmly drink before meals as needed.
[Preparation Method] Cut herbs into small pieces like sesame seeds, place in a silk bag, soak in one dou of wine overnight.

Comment: Traditional Chinese medicine distinguishes between deficiency and excess in leukorrhea. Deficiency relates to spleen and kidney; excess is always linked to dampness. This formula uses Di Huang, Shao Yao, and Huang Qi to nourish yin, soften liver, and strengthen spleen; Ai Ye warms and removes dampness. Therefore, this formula treats leukorrhea primarily due to spleen-kidney deficiency.
Hou Po Jiu — Original name: "Hou Po Tang"
[Drug Composition] Hou Po, as thick as a finger, four inches long; Gui one chi
[Function and Indication] Treat women’s lower burner deficiency-cold, bladder and kidney qi damage, excessive white discharge.
[Dosage and Usage] Empty stomach, take all at once.
[Preparation Method] Boil with five sheng of wine until two boils, remove residue, grind Gui into powder, mix into wine and leave overnight.
