Symptoms include breast distention and pain with lump, or lump like beads, painful when pressed, kasama ang chest tightness, shortness of breath, heavy head, tinnitus, dizziness, nausea, poor appetite, fatigue, impotence, premature ejaculation, uncomfortable bowel movements, dry mouth, but cannot drink much, thin white greasy or yellow greasy coating, deep string or slippery pulse. The condition is phlegm-dampness obstruction with kidney qi deficiency. Treatment is to supplement kidney and remove phlegm. Using Erchen Tang, Erzhi Wan, Shenqi Wan with modifications. Common herbs include tangerine peel, pinellia, pseudostellaria, poria, yujin, orange peel, ligustrum, lycium, cinnamon, yam, alisma, mountain gentian, red peony, radish seed, processed fo-ti, mulberry twig.
5. Supplement kidney essence, resolve blood stasis
Due to various reasons damaging kidney qi, leading to imbalance in Chong and Ren, qi stagnation, long-standing illness affecting blood, resulting in blood stasis obstructing the milk ducts. Symptoms include hard breast lump that does not move, long duration, fatigue, blurred vision, dizziness, tinnitus, low back and knee pain, dark complexion, numbness in hands and feet, thin white coating, purple spots on the edge of the tongue, dark purple sublingual vein, fine wiry pulse. Condition is kidney deficiency with blood stasis. Treatment is to supplement kidney essence and activate blood circulation. Supplement kidney essence, resolve existing blood stasis, so that kidney qi can be replenished, essence and blood abundant, Chong and Ren balanced, yin-yang harmonious, qi and blood flowing smoothly, milk ducts clear, lumps disappear. Use Erzhi Wan, Tao Hong Si Wu Tang with modifications. Herbs include ligustrum, lycium, peach kernel, safflower, red peony, chuanxiong, raw rehmannia, cooked rehmannia, processed fo-ti, goji berry, dodder seed, zhebei, mountain gentian, pinellia, white mustard seed, angelica.
Clinical experience: When breast pain comes and goes with emotional fluctuations, psychological counseling should be added. For those related to work stress, advise proper rest schedule for recovery. Liver-soothing herbs are often aromatic and drying, so they should only be used until the condition improves. After recovery, do not stop medication immediately; instead, continue with post-treatment care, mainly focusing on supplementing kidney and liver, with auxiliary herbs to open channels and disperse nodules, nourish blood, and harmonize blood.
