Additionally, Ren Shen and Dang Gui are used to tonify qi and blood, supporting the body's deficiency. The entire formula works together to warm the organs, calm the worms, treat both cold and heat, and balance pathogenic and healthy forces.

This formula promotes gallbladder contraction and bile excretion, facilitating bile drainage, reducing or preventing biliary infection and worm eggs remaining in the bile duct forming a core of gallstones, thus reducing the occurrence of gallstone disease. Increasing the dosage of Wumei enhances the effect significantly, while using Wumei alone is not as effective as the compound formula, indicating a synergistic effect. Experimental results also show that this formula can anesthetize worm bodies, making them unable to adhere to the intestinal wall, promote increased bile secretion from the liver, lower pH levels, significantly dilate the Oddi sphincter, and exhibit strong broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, especially against dysentery bacilli. |
