Shu Gan Di Huang, Dang Gui, and Shao Yao nourish blood and yin, supporting the Chong and Ren meridians. Rou Gui and Gan Jiang are pungent and warm, promoting circulation and dispersing stasis. Gan Cao harmonizes the formula and strengthens the middle energizer. Young boy’s urine helps disperse stagnated blood, while wine carries the herbs into the blood and promotes circulation. Together, these herbs achieve the effect of activating blood and removing stasis. Note: The "Black Spirit Powder" recorded in "Chan Yu Bao Qing Ji" Volume 1 includes Fu Zi but lacks Pu Huang. |
