Changning Rheumatic Wine [Drug Composition] 0.5kg each of Bungarus multicinctus, Naja naja, and Elaphe carinata; 120g of Angelica root, 90g of Smilax glabra rhizome, 120g of Rehmannia glutinosa, 60g of Saposhnikovia divaricata, 90g of Clematis chinensis, 60g of Stephania tetrandra, 60g of Safflower, 30g of Papaya fruit
[Indications and Functions] Expels wind-dampness, unblocks meridians, relieves obstruction and pain. Suitable for rheumatoid arthritis and other types of arthritis.
[Dosage and Administration] 10–15ml each time, three times daily.
[Preparation Method] Use live snakes: each snake is soaked in 1L of wine separately for three weeks, then filter the wine; mix equal amounts to make "Three Snake Wine." The remaining herbs are soaked in 1.5L of 60-degree kaoliang wine for three weeks, then filter the liquid. The residue is boiled with water, filtered again to extract the juice. Mix the three liquids—medicinal wine, herbal juice, and Three Snake Wine—in equal parts to produce Changning Rheumatic Wine.

Comment: This wine uses venomous snakes known for expelling wind and unblocking meridians, combined with herbs that expel wind-dampness and promote circulation, plus herbs that invigorate blood and nourish blood. Snake tissues contain abundant bioactive substances widely used in anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and immune-boosting applications. Snake venom has stronger and longer-lasting analgesic effects than morphine.
