【Source】This product is the mature fruit of the climbing woody plants Schisandra chinensis and Schisandra sphenanthera from the Menispermaceae family. Schisandra chinensis is mainly produced in Northeast China, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, and Shanxi provinces; Schisandra sphenanthera grows in the Yangtze River region and Southwest China. Schisandra chinensis has better quality than Schisandra sphenanthera.
【Pharmacological Components】Contains schizandrin, malic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, vitamin C, volatile oil, fatty oil, sugars, resins, tannins, etc. It regulates the excitation and inhibition processes of the central nervous system, balancing them, thus improving work efficiency and reducing fatigue; has cardiotonic, blood pressure-lowering, respiratory stimulation, and uterine stimulation effects; reduces serum transaminase levels and offers some liver protection; inhibits Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
