【Composition】Danggui, Shengdi each 9 grams, Taoren 12 grams, Honghua 9 grams, Zhiqiao, Chishaoyao each 6 grams, Chaihu 3 grams, Gancao 3 grams, Jiegeng 4.5 grams, Chuanxiong 4.5 grams, Niuxi 10 grams
【Usage】Decoct in water and take orally.
【Function】Activates blood circulation, removes stasis, regulates qi, relieves pain.
【Indications】Stasis in the upper jiao: headache, chest pain, chest tightness, hiccups, insomnia, palpitations, fever due to blood stasis, dark red tongue with ecchymoses or petechiae on edges, dark lips or dark circles around eyes, wiry or tight pulse. For women with blood stasis causing amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, rough skin, afternoon tidal fever; also for gangrene, leukoderma, eye diseases such as "clouds moving across vision," and "blue blindness." Currently used for hypertension, schizophrenia, post-concussion syndrome, chronic myelogenous leukemia, thrombophlebitis, pigmentation, low libido, menopausal syndrome, intractable headache, persistent low-grade fever, and retinal hemorrhage due to internal blood stasis that has persisted long-term.
【Discussion】The formula uses Taoren, Honghua, Danggui, Chuanxiong, and Chishaoyao to activate blood and remove stasis; Danggui and Shengdi nourish blood and resolve stasis; Chaihu and Zhiqiao soothe liver and regulate qi; Niuxi breaks up stasis and guides blood downward; Jiegeng opens lung qi and directs herbs upward; Gancao alleviates urgency and harmonizes all herbs. Together they achieve the effect of activating blood and regulating qi.
【Experimental Research】1. Improves microcirculation, anti-shock. "Chinese Patent Medicine Research" 1988(7):29. Observations on microcirculation showed that after oral administration, it significantly improved acute microcirculatory disturbances induced by high-molecular dextran in rats and prevented sudden drop in blood pressure caused by microcirculatory disorder. Confirmed effects of activating blood, removing stasis, improving microcirculation, and increasing blood perfusion to tissues and organs. 2. Coagulant and anticoagulant effects. "Zhejiang Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine" 1981(10):428. The intravenous preparation shortened recalcification time, prothrombin time, and thrombin clotting time in test tubes, disaggregated platelets, and restored hepatic clearance capacity.
