Qing Gan Huo Yu Tang 【Source】Ma Pei Zhi Yi An. 【Composition】Yu Jin, Qing Pi, Chi Shao, Tao Ren, Xin Jiang, Ze Lan, Dang Gui, Zhi Ke, Su Geng, Wa Leng Zi, Can San Qi 【Usage】Decoct in water and take orally. 【Function】Activate blood circulation, resolve stasis, regulate qi, relieve pain. 【Indications】Rib pain due to sudden injury or strain, blood stagnation in meridians, rib swelling, liver abscess, qi stagnation and blood stasis, distending or stabbing pain in flanks, intolerable to touch, inability to turn over. 【Additions】For severe stabbing pain, add Ru Xiang, Mo Yao; for severe distension pain, add Mu Xiang, Chuan Lian Zi, Xuan Hu; for hard swelling and pain, add Zao Jiao, increase use of Chuan Shan Jia. 【Discussion】In this formula, Yu Jin, Qing Pi, Zhi Ke, and Su Geng regulate qi and disperse nodules; Dang Gui, Chi Shao, Tao Ren, Xin Jiang, and Ze Lan activate blood and resolve stasis; Wa Leng Zi resolves phlegm and disperses nodules; Can San Qi activates blood and stops pain.
