【Composition】True asafoetida, 120 grams; ginseng, 60 grams; true Qishé snake (smaller ones preferred, remove bones and heads/tails 10 cm long, soak in wine, roast, obtain pure powder), 120 grams; angelica root, ligusticum, coptis,羌活 (Qianghuo), windproof herb, radix scrophulariae (all stir-fried with wine), magnolia flower, white芷 (Bai Zhi), poria, ephedra, gastrodia, smilax, fresh ginger slices (all stir-fried), licorice (roasted), cinnamon (powdered, not exposed to fire), cardamom seed (powdered, not exposed to fire), prepared rehmannia (steamed nine times with soybean water), amber (powdered), astragalus (honey-fried), rhubarb (wine-steamed), cardamom seed (powdered), male mouse feces (only pointed ends used), cooked rehmannia, pangolin scale, each 60 grams (use 15 grams each for front and back legs, soaked in sesame oil, roasted); whole scorpion (remove head, tail, legs), herba clematis (wine-fried), kudzu root (roasted), sargentodoxa (dried), each 75 grams; northern fine cinnamon, red peony root (roasted), wu yao (wine-fried), green peel (flour-roasted), white atractylodes (soil-roasted), silkworm pupae (washed, roasted), frankincense (oil removed), myrrh, cinnabar, bone-breaker (wine-fried), saffron (peeled, hair removed, wine-fried), tianzhu huang, processed aconite slice, raw tortoise shell (charred, avoid if already boiled), agarwood, mother cloves, bear bile, each 30 grams; safflower (soaked in wine, dried), rhino horn tip, each 24 grams; thickened magnolia bark, earthworm (dried), rosin (boiled nine times), each 15 grams; Chinese sandalwood, 12 grams (not exposed to fire); plum blossom ice, rhino horn powder, each 7.5 grams; dragon’s blood, 2.4 grams; tiger leg bone, one pair (roasted until crisp).
【Usage】Grind all ingredients into fine powder, mix with honey, pound thousands of times, form pills weighing 3 grams each. Coat with gold foil, seal in wax capsule. Take one pill per dose, dissolve in ginger decoction.
【Indications】Stroke due to phlegm obstruction, facial deviation, limb stiffness, unclear speech, hemiplegia; joint and bone pain, hemiparesis, difficulty walking. |
