Hou Zao San

【Composition】Ling Yang Jiao 3 grams, She Xiang 1.2 grams, Hou Zao 12 grams, Yue Shi (calcined) 3 grams, Qian Nan Xiang 3 grams, Chuan Bei Mu (heart removed) 6 grams, Qing Meng Shi (calcined to crimson, water-flying) 3 grams, Tian Zhu Huang (water-flying) 9 grams
【Usage】Grind all herbs into pure powder. Except She Xiang and Qian Nan Xiang, mix other powders thoroughly and grind to extreme fineness. Then add She Xiang and Qian Nan Xiang powders, mix well, seal tightly in bottle. Take 0.3–0.6 grams per dose, once or twice daily, with warm water.
【Function】Resolves phlegm, calms shock, clears heat, opens orifices.
【Indications】Pediatric convulsions, limb twitching, excessive phlegm, rapid breathing, wheezing like sawing, restlessness and agitation. |
