【Source】Chapter 5 of "Qianjin Yifang" (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold).
【Composition】Ma Huang 15g, Da Huang 7.5g, Xing Ren 15g
【Usage】First crush Ma Huang and Da Huang into powder. Then finely grind Xing Ren into paste. Mix with the previous powder, then pound thoroughly until uniform. Store in an airtight container. For infants one month old, give one pill the size of a soybean, mixed with milk. Let the child sweat; once sweating occurs, dust with warm talcum powder, avoid wind exposure. For babies aged 100 days, use a pill the size of a jujube seed. Adjust dosage according to child’s size.
【Indications】Infantile convulsion and transformation accompanied by epidemic warm disease, or non-congenital cases of epidemic illness. |
