Common Western Medications

1. Albendazole (Stek): 2 tablets each time, effective against adult worms, eggs, and larvae of various intestinal parasites including Ascaris and hookworm.
2. Pyrantel: ① For ascaris: adults 3-3.5g daily; children 100-150mg/kg/day (max 4.0g), taken for 2 days. ② For oxyuris: adults 1.0-1.2g each time, twice daily; children 50mg/kg/day, total daily dose not exceeding 2.0g, divided into morning and evening doses. Taken for 7-10 days.
3. Mebendazole: Adults take 3.0g on an empty stomach each time; children 0.2-0.3g per year (max 3.0g per dose). In areas with severe infection, can take for 2 consecutive days, mainly used for hookworm.
4. Levamisole: For ascaris: adults 150mg, children 3mg/kg, single dose at bedtime, take laxative if constipated. For hookworm: adults and children both 2mg/kg, single dose at bedtime, taken for 3 days. For oxyuris: 1mg per day, single dose, taken for 1 week.
5. Praziquantel: Adults 2.0-3.0g/day, divided into 2 doses, spaced 1 hour apart, chew thoroughly before swallowing, take magnesium sulfate as a laxative 2 hours after.
